A documentary on the history and status quo of Newfoundland & Labrador’s seal oil industry.
Seal industry in Newfoundland is a 30-min-long TV documentary on Canadian seal-oil industry. Being the only place to legally hunt seals in the world, the seal industry in Newfoundland and Labrador has been highly controversial over the years. The industry has been blamed and demonized by outside environmental groups, yet the locals still proudly see the seal industry as their history and heritage.
This film goes beyond the set impression and explores the history, status quo and justifications of the seal oil industry, by visiting and speaking to local scholars, governors, designers and fishermen. We were commissioned by Elite Nutrition Company(Canada) to travel to Newfoundland and to produce this documentary.
I am not tracing demons. It’s demons tracing me.
